I am Pan Chen, a PhD student in Computer Science at the University of Toronto. This page is a simple entry point to the main parts of my work.
My current work sits around AI for science, computational creativity, human-computer interaction, and systems that help people learn, reason, write, and make decisions. Outside research, I have also worked on applied AI and software systems in industry, and I care a lot about teaching.
Research
I work on AI systems for scientific discovery, language-model reasoning, knowledge representations, and human-AI collaboration.
Industry
I have worked on applied AI and software systems, including multi-modality work at Amazon and software development at i4i.
Teaching
I have taught and supported computer science students across programming, software design, databases, and theoretical CS courses at the University of Toronto.
